The Centre for Cleantech and Biomass Resource Efficiency (CCBRE) is expanding its scientific team and is looking for a motivated specialist in environmental engineering, soil science, chemistry, agronomy, or another related discipline.

The new team member will contribute to the development of an innovative phosphorus-rich organic fertiliser produced from residual biomass streams. The project aims to identify sustainable solutions for more efficient resource use, reduce Bulgaria’s dependence on imported mineral fertilisers, and close regional cycles of valuable nutrients.

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher or research associate with an interest in applied laboratory work, scientific research, and the practical implementation of research results.

Main Responsibilities

The position will include:

• laboratory synthesis and characterisation of fertiliser products;
• conducting soil tests;
• assessing nutrient availability to plants;
• testing the developed products under appropriate experimental conditions;
• participating in production scale-up activities together with industrial partners;
• preparing scientific publications;
• presenting and disseminating the results of the research work.

Place of Work
